501st members from around the world have donated patches to be placed on a quilt and auctioned off at San Diego Comic Con 08 with proceeds to the Make a Wish Foundation. Project sponsored by the Golden Gate Garrison with special assist from Southern California Garrison and San Diego Squad.

The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health is a residential “place like home” for sick children and their families. Children come from across the country and around the world to stay together with their families in The Inn’s healing environment while receiving groundbreaking medical treatments at the NIH, the world’s leading biomedical research center. While the NIH takes care of the child’s medical needs, The Inn tends to the child’s heart, soul and spirit. The DC Metro Area Star Wars Collecting Club raises fund for this organization.

Children’s National Medical Center is the only exclusive provider of pediatric care in the metropolitan Washington area and is the only freestanding children’s hospital between Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Norfolk, and Atlanta. Serving the nation’s children for more than 130 years, Children’s National is a proven leader in the development and application of innovative new treatments for childhood illness and injury. The DC Area Metro Star Wars Collecting club helps raise money for this great organization.

Kosair Charities is the largest private financial supporter of Kosair Children's Hospital, and since 1981 has contributed nearly $70 million to provide medical care for children whose families cannot afford to pay. The Kentucky Star Wars Collecting Club has generously raised money for this organization.

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors, and entire communities. Many Star Wars organizations have worked with Make-A-Wish.

MediCinema is a registered charity in the United Kingdom that has formed a unique partnership with the Health Sector and Film Industry and installs on-site cinemas in hospitals with 35mm projector, big screen, Dolby Surround Sound, tiered seating and nurses instead of usherettes. A $10,000 check was presented to MediCinema by Cards, Inc. at Star Wars Celebration Europe.

Since 1996, the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation has funded nearly $5 million in research toward a cure and has helped thousands of families through the family support network. UMDF supports scientific collaboration and family networking through international symposia and is building an endowment to sustain research through the millennium. The DC Metro Area Star Wars Collecting Club has helped raise money for this worthy cause.
