Clone Wars Stars Invade Special Hollywood "Savage Opress" Screening

Clone Wars Cast

On December 6th, 2010 the stars from Cartoon Network's "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" invaded the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, California for a special theatrical screening event for the series. The screening consisted of three yet-to-be-aired episodes from the series, seemlessly joined and presented in theatrical fashion. Tickets for the screening, which was free to public, were devoured in mere moments on StarWars.com. Similar screenings are planned for several other major cities around the country in the coming days.

The major draw for the screening was a new character in the Star Wars universe - Savage Opress. Based on crowd reaction, the monstrous new bad guy, who is the same species as Episode I's Darth Maul, is sure to be a huge fan favorite. The episodes that comprised the film were written by Katie Lucas, George's daughter. She was introduced to the crowd before the showing by series supervising director Dave Filoni. Almost all the main cast members were in attendance, including Matt Lanter (Anakin Skywalker), Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka Tano), James Arnold Taylor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) and more.

For a full, spoiler-free rundown of the evening, please see our event coverage and photo set.
